Agreement and scope
These terms form the agreement between you and Fisher King ("we", "us") for the Fisher King iOS app, the fisherking.app site and the related backend services (the "Service"). Do not use the Service if you do not agree.
Fisher King may provide location-based hourly fish-activity forecasts, solunar factors, weather and marine conditions, fishing spots and map layers, a private catch log, species information and an optional AI coach. Features, data coverage and regional or language availability can change.
An account is not required for the core local features. Sign in with Apple may be required for sync, the coach or other online features.
The free launch — and keeping it
This is not a free trial. Fisher King is offered to everyone at no charge during its launch period. No subscription starts, no personal countdown runs, no card is requested and nothing is charged automatically at any point.
If subscriptions ever begin, your download date protects you. Everyone who downloaded Fisher King before subscriptions start keeps every feature that was offered during the free launch, at no charge, with no time limit and with no action required from you. Eligibility is decided from Apple's signed record of the app version you first downloaded; where that record is unavailable, a first-launch marker stored on your device is used in your favour.
We have not announced an end date for the free launch, and this promise does not depend on one. Features added after the free launch may be offered separately, and we may change coverage, data sources or individual features for maintenance, security, licensing or product reasons. Mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
Subscriptions that may be offered later
Subscriptions can only be enabled through a separate, later app release. Using the free version never creates a subscription. A subscription begins only when you choose a plan in the app and separately complete Apple's App Store confirmation.
- The plan name, included features, billing period and localised price appear on the App Store purchase sheet before you buy.
- Apple charges your Apple ID. A subscription may auto-renew under the terms the App Store shows, until you cancel.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access normally continues to the end of the paid period.
- Restore Purchases will be available in the app. Refunds follow Apple's policies.
- If an introductory offer is ever made, its length, eligibility, post-offer price and renewal terms will be shown on the purchase sheet. These terms promise no such offer.
Subscription scope and price may change in the future, subject to App Store rules and mandatory consumer-law notice and consent requirements. Apple's confirmation sheet always carries the information that applies at the moment of purchase.
Forecasts, accuracy and safety
The fish-activity score is an estimate calculated from solunar rhythm, wind, pressure, waves, current, tide, season and other available data. It does not guarantee a catch. Third-party sources can be incomplete, delayed or wrong; Fisher King tries to show missing data but cannot detect every gap or error.
Fisher King is not a navigation, emergency, life-safety, official warning or professional marine tool. Check official forecasts and warnings, local conditions, vessel suitability and your own experience before you go out. A good fishing score never makes unsafe conditions safe.
Checking local fishing law, licences, seasons, size and bag limits, property access and conservation rules is your responsibility.
Account, catches and your content
You are responsible for the security of your Apple ID and your account. Write to us if you suspect misuse. Account deletion and data practices are described in the Privacy Policy and on the Data Controls page.
You keep the rights in the catches, notes, nicknames and coach messages you create. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, transmit, sync and process that content for the features you actually choose. You are responsible for your content being lawful and not infringing anyone's rights.
Catch visibility is private by default. We never turn a private spot into public content unless you explicitly choose sharing or location sync.
Acceptable use and intellectual property
Do not use the Service unlawfully, harmfully, deceptively or in a way that violates other people's rights. Do not interfere with the Service, bypass security, scrape at scale, abuse cost or quota controls, or send malicious code. Harassment, impersonation, hate content and content encouraging illegal fishing are prohibited.
The Fisher King name, app code, design, original copy and artwork belong to us or our licensors. Third-party material — including OpenStreetMap, Mapbox, weather, marine and bathymetry data — is subject to its own licences, and the required attributions appear in the app. Using the Service transfers no ownership.
Changes, suspension and liability
We may change or temporarily suspend parts of the Service, or limit an account, for maintenance, security, legal requirements, loss of a licence or source, or misuse. Where practical we give advance notice of material changes. Mandatory rights relating to any paid period are unaffected.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, a particular catch, data accuracy or the permanent availability of any feature.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of a forecast, missed catches, trip or equipment costs, loss of data, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here excludes liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or consumer rights that cannot legally be limited.
Law, changes and contact
Subject to mandatory consumer and data-protection rules, these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Non-waivable rights and local court access granted by the country you live in are unaffected.
We may update these terms as the product or the law changes. Material changes are announced in the app or on this site and the effective date changes. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it, where separate consent is not legally required.
