Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Fisher King iOS app ("Fisher King", "the app", "the service"), operated by an independent, small-team developer ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Fisher King, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

Fisher King helps recreational anglers plan a fishing trip: a spot finder built on OpenStreetMap data, hourly weather and sea condition forecasts, an estimated catch score, a private catch log, a species reference, and an optional AI fishing coach. Most features work without creating an account. Signing in with Apple is optional and only needed for cross-device catch log sync and the optional leaderboard.

Not a navigation or safety tool

No guarantee of accuracy

Weather, sea state, tide, current, depth, and catch-score information in Fisher King is drawn from third-party public data sources and computed estimates. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information. Fishing spot listings come from OpenStreetMap community data and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect — including access rights, which you are responsible for verifying locally. The catch score is a rough estimate built from a transparent set of factors; it is a planning aid, not a promise of a catch, and it is not medical, legal, or professional advice. For anything about catch limits, protected species, closed seasons, or local fishing regulations, always check your local authority — Fisher King does not attempt to be an authoritative source for regulatory information.

Accounts & sync

You may optionally sign in using Sign in with Apple to sync your catch log across devices and to use the optional leaderboard. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Apple ID used to sign in. See our Privacy Policy for what data sync involves and how to delete your synced data.

Subscriptions

Fisher King may offer optional paid subscription tiers ("Fisher King Pro") purchased through the Apple App Store. Where offered:

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, as selected) unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your device's Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, or via the App Store. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies, not by us directly.
• Pricing, included features, and availability may change; we'll disclose current terms in the in-app purchase screen at the time of purchase.

As of this version, subscriptions are not yet live in the App Store listing; all features are available while subscriptions are pending. This section will govern once they are enabled.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Fisher King for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates local fishing, boating, or environmental regulations.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or interfere with the app or backend service.
• Choose a leaderboard nickname that is abusive, impersonates another person, or violates others' rights.
• Submit false, illegal, or harmful content through the catch log, coach, or any other input field.

Intellectual property

The Fisher King app, its design, illustrations, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Fishing spot data is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License; weather/marine data, map tiles, and AI responses are provided by the third parties described in our Privacy Policy under their own terms. Depth readings are computed from the GEBCO bathymetric grid, a public-domain dataset from the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans, which we host ourselves and credit here as its source. Your catch log entries remain yours; by syncing them you grant us only the license needed to store and return them to you.

Termination

You may stop using Fisher King at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access to the sync/account features for violations of these Terms, including abusive leaderboard behavior. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data; deleting your account (see Privacy Policy — Your right to deletion) removes synced server-side data.

Disclaimer of warranties

Fisher King is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that forecasts, spot data, or catch scores will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, income, or profit, arising from your use of or inability to use Fisher King — including any decision made about going out on the water based on information in the app. This includes, but is not limited to, decisions relying on forecast, tide, current, or catch-score data that later prove inaccurate. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence, where applicable law prohibits such a limitation).

Governing law & changes

We may update these Terms as the app changes; the "last updated" date below reflects the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Where mandatory local consumer-protection law grants you rights these Terms cannot override, those rights remain unaffected.
